“Shesa Hancock Cat”

12 year old quarter horse mare

Sorrel with star

15.1HH

Be sure to read the rider testimonial at the very bottom of this page!

This sweet mare is the absolute definition of bomb proof! Anyone can ride her! First- time riders will feel safe and cowboys will appreciate her willingness and ability! There is zero drama behind this mare. In the video above, there is an 8 year old girl who had never ridden a horse by herself – only five minutes after a bit of instruction, riding shesa all by herself! Shesa listened to the little girl’s every ask. It was something to see. She has been on camping trips and is exposed to different trail environments weekly with various riders. We were pleasantly surprised when we were next to a semi last weekend and it let some air pressure out unexpectedly and it was extremely loud- only inches from Shesa. It scared us and the other horses, but not this rock-solid mare!

Recently, she was ridden to a loud modified (amped up) tractor pull, and her rider took her away from the other horses, to the end of the pulling track where all the commotion was, and she was surrounded by people, away from the herd and never batted an eye or fought to get back to the others.

She’ll ride off in the front or the back of the herd or by herself. No buddy sour behavior. Loads, unloads, ties for extended periods of time. Great for the vet and Farrier. Nice big, solid feet, doesn’t require shoes. Easy keeper. Easy to catch, mount, saddle. Goes through water and over bridges. Super, duper traffic safe. LOVES KIDS! Great personality and loves people.

“Shesa” BIG, stout, muscular Mare who will keep your loved ones safe one day, and work a feed lot or go team penning the next day! She defines versatile and level headed! This is a once in a lifetime horse!

Current on all vaccines, Coggins, and deworming. Pre-purchase exams welcome at prospective buyers expense. Has a current interstate health certificate obtained to go on a camping trip 5/9/26.

This is the kind of horse that is typically not available for purchase and we fully expect any buyer to keep her for the remainder of her life. These horses that are fun to ride and can take a little kid riding on their very first trail ride or be ridden successfully in a team penning or sorting environment are true champions of the horse world. She’s guaranteed to have absolutely no vices.

Giving a lesson to a first time Rider!

Shesa is priced low for what she provides to the humans in her care. She will make someone’s best friend, secret keeper, partner, babysitter, coach, champion, or anything else you want her to be! Her price is also non-negotiable.

$9,000 FIRM. SUPER FIRM!

Shesa has been SOLD. Please see our available horses page for a current list of horses for sale.

Rider testimonial about a trail ride with shesa!

“The Ultimate Confidence Builder and Partner”

I want to share a quick story about this incredible mare, because it truly highlights who she is at her core.

A little while ago, I was out on a trail ride and having a completely off day. I was riding a horse I’d been on before, but for whatever reason, my anxiety was spiked, I was tense, and the ride just wasn’t clicking. Sensing I needed a reset, we decided to switch things up. I hopped onto this mare, and another rider took my horse.

The difference was instant. From the moment I settled into the saddle, she felt my nerves and immediately dialed herself down. Instead of feeding off my anxiety, she took it upon herself to be the steady anchor I desperately needed. She slowed her breathing, dropped her head, and essentially said, “I’ve got you.”

To make things even more impressive, the rest of our group ended up moving far ahead, leaving the two of us completely alone on the trail. For a lot of horses, being left behind is a recipe for a meltdown. Not her. She didn’t whinny, she didn’t jig, and she didn’t rush. She just calmly walked along, totally focused on taking care of me and keeping me safe.

She is the definition of a caretaker. If you are looking for a horse with a golden heart, a rock-solid brain, and the intuition to know exactly what her rider needs, you truly couldn’t ask for a better partner. She is something incredibly special.
